What to wear on screen

So, you've decided to finally get a video produced and your thinking about being interviewed or hosting your own. It's a daunting prospect and it doesn't matter who you are. Other than the nerves, one of the questions I get asked a lot is 'What do I wear?'

Firstly you want to consider what type of video you are starring in.

If it's corporate and your firm, or business has a ceratin dress standard, then stick to that. If you wear a suit, then wear a suit. If you just wear dressy casual, then that's what you wear. The last thing that we want is for you to feel uncomfortable in front of the camera. That is NEVER looks good.

Second thing to consider is colour, as a general rule I always suggest a bold, simple colour e.g. royal blue, red etc. If you are wearing a suit then the colour can be in your tie. Keep it simple and don't over do it (unless that's your style of the video)

DON'T wear anything that is too patterned and stear clear of stripes that are too close together, as this effects the camera and causes strobing which doesn't look good when viewing the video.

Hair and make-up is also important so remember to consider getting your hair done prior to filming. The video will be around for a long time, so you would hate to have re-growth, too much chin stubble, or fly aways.

We do however carry with us, hairspray and some translucent powder that we can help you with. However please do your make-up before you arrive, unless it's in your budget to hire a make-up artist. (This can be arranged)
